Dear Statists,
Your time is over.
You had a good run. It was a valiant effort. Truly impressive when you step back and look at it. You probably don’t even see it yet because you’re so close to victory. You don’t even realize how vulnerable you are. Your elites failed to account for how quickly technology would accelerate the capacity for people to break through a lifetime of brainwashing. Your secret pacts and antiquated means of control are no match for our voluntary associations based on the principle of natural rights. There is no one for you to defeat. There is no party, no platform, no leader. You have no target. You have already lost.
I imagine this is the big reason for the sudden coordinated world-wide effort to eliminate the last bastion of truly free speech by pushing for SOPA/PIPA/CISPA and others. Fortunately for us, you weren’t quick enough. For even now if you were to succeed in some measure of internet censorship, it would be too late. Now the ideas you’ve worked so hard to repress through your socialized indoctrination facilities and various propaganda vehicles have gained new life in the liberty movement, better known as the Lovelution. The biggest effect of the Lovelution was not getting us to see the emperor has no clothes, but rather to allow us to see each other. Suddenly we realized there were MILLIONS of other people who felt the same way. This is bigger than any candidate. This is bigger than any election. It is a philosophical revolution based on principle, truth, and reason. People within the movement can be co-opted or silenced, but the core principles transcend any person, symbol, or event. The seeds of knowledge have been planted and there is no stopping the explosive growth that is about to occur. All you can hope to do is more violence to try and suppress it, but you will only be delaying the inevitable.
Socialism can only be instituted by force. It is, in its inherent nature, a violent political model. You cannot redistribute wealth without forcefully taking that wealth from someone. You cannot provide free services without forcing someone to pay for them. All government run programs are monopolies and all monopolies are subject to waste, inefficiency, and corruption. Monopolies are completely unaccountable to all but those who can afford to pay tribute.
In contrast, Libertarianism is based on peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
Instead of basing our society on a violent principle as a means to an idealistic end, we must instead begin and end with moral principles. Above all, we should seek to do no harm. In no instance should we use violence, aggression or coercion; not even as a means to an end or “for the greater good”. In addition we should recognize that without respect for our basic natural rights we will continue to drift afloat in moral ambiguity.
Everyone has a right to life.
Everyone has a right to freedom.
Everyone has a right to the fruits of their labor.
I don’t have a perfect vision for how everything should work, but that’s the point. No one knows where the next revolutionary idea will come from. The only thing central political and economic planning can ever do is suppress new ideas and divert resources from where they are truly needed. Libertarianism is not a means to an end. The end is the means. Society must have a mechanism to allow constant evolution and transformation. Right now we’re experiencing an oppression bubble. It’s about to burst. I can’t fucking wait.
